UPDATED January 19, 2017: I'll be honest, I decided to re-post this blog from last year verbatim, because I don't have time to write a brand new one as I am about to go back to France to visit my Mom and won't have access to my computer. I just didn't want you to wonder why I "disappeared"! Everything I said last year holds true so if you have the time, I think this ... Read More »
Leafy Greens!
This is from the archives, part ONE in my series "Eat your Veggies"! There is no question that vegetables are an important staple of a healthy diet, both for our personal well-being but also for that of our planet. So every excuse to incorporate a great variety of veggies in our culinary repertoire is a good idea. As you know, I have expanded my own vegetarian and vegan ... Read More »

Put Sugar in Its Place…
UPDATED ON 10/14/2016 with my husband's position on Sugar, a manifesto of sorts (click here)! ...same as it ever was, and of course, Cuisinicity is right in line with him! Apple Hazelnut Kale Salad
The combination of the sweet & sour apple cider vinaigrette, fresh grated apple and chopped hazelnuts (or other nuts) with the finely chopped kale is absolutely superb! I now use this salad as a foundation: by that, I mean that I like to "build on it" and make it more of a centerpiece all-in-one meal (how wonderful is that?!) so I can add some grains and legumes or beans ... So many of you have tried this recipe and LOVED it that I don't need to convince you to try it! I just thought I ought to film it in my own kitchen, just because I am so proud proud PROUD of this wonderful recipe! Eggplant Chickpeas & Raisins
This is definitely a feel-good for your soul kind of dish...at least it is for me! It reminds me of a North African dish we used to make for the Jewish holidays when I was a little girl (except it also had chicken). The fresh ginger and blend of sweet spices and raisins simmer slowly with the eggplant and thinly sliced onions resulting in an absolutely luscious sauce! I love ... Read More »
The Verdict on Canola Oil!
Many of you have asked me why I prefer to use canola or olive oil over coconut oil in my recipes. In the two videos linked to below, my husband, who of course is the nutritional expert behind the inspiration for all my recipes gives a very concise and clear answer! You’ll find I like to use canola oil in my baking because of its neutral flavor, on the culinary side, and ... Read More »
