Welcome to our kitchen! It is the heart of our home; it is where we come together as a family and where all the Cuisinicity magic happens. Many of you have asked my husband over the years how the Katz family (all 7 of us!) manages to make it all work at home: how do we eat healthy every day in our own busy household? So, I decided to create this brand new feature on Cuisinicity for all of you and invite you inside my beautiful kitchen to show you how I bring my recipes to life.
….so come on in, be our guest!
Mind you, because I have no idea how to edit film, the footage will be quite candid and offer you a real-life glimpse of the process, including all my funny little “mishaps” at times!
You’ll find my latest creations on my Cooking Class Videos (click here) on my homepage and also on the left side-bar of the website where this little icon appears.
So, keep coming back to check as I add more recipes every day!

Family night has been a tradition in our family ever since the kids were very little. Every Friday night, the whole family gathers around a beautiful table and dinner is extra special! At the head of the table here is my wonderful aunt Tatie DanDan who taught me everything I know about French cuisine!
A votre santé!
Hi Catherine,
I have missed YOU and your delightful videos! I am so glad you are posting new recipes. I have shared your simple applesauce recipe and everyone is awed that it is so good and so easy.
Thank you Julie!!! What a lovely comment! It goes straight to my heart!
Hi Catherine. I do love cookbooks, and would buy your cookbook in a New York minute…BUT I truly love the videos! You make healthy cooking doable, and not too time consuming, and not with a list of ingredients the length of my arm, and not with exotic foods that my mid-sized town wouldn’t have, and I couldn’t afford anyway. When I’m tired of thinking about food and what to fix that sounds good, that’s when I turn to your videos! I’m a visual learner and appreciate watching the process come together, especially if I haven’t made a recipe with certain ingredients. I’m a grandmother, and I’ve never made anything with “barley” in it! But after watching your video, I want to try using barley. I love that you are so down-to-earth, that you are a dog lover like I am, and I love that you care about nutrition and what we are putting into our bodies. I especially like the emphasis on less sugar, and using minimal amounts for desserts. I do make my own fermented vegetables (some people call it sauerkraut) and I didn’t start doing that until my 60s, so it’s never too late to learn new things and give it a try. Thank you so much for the encouragement. Please keep it up.
Dear Joella!
What an absolutely delightful comment! It just made me so happy this morning! What you love about Cuisinicity, and my videos in particular,is exactly what I have strived for–simple, straightforward, doable in a real household, and it’s just so gratifying to have you appreciate it so much and say so well in one beautiful comment! WOW! I am truly touched! Thank YOU!! 🙂
I’m the mother of four little kids. I have always thought that one of the greatest gifts I could give my children is a taste for healthy food, but it is so easy to grab the graham crackers as we go running out the door. I LOVE Cuisinicity!! It is down-to-earth and doable and lacks the holier-than-thou vibe that is so prevalent on other healthy-for-kids food blogs. Sneaky macaroni & cheese is on the menu for us tonight. Keep up the great work!!
Hi Gillian, this is the BEST compliment I could ever get from another Mom who has also been the “trenches”. It means a lot to me! Thank you! Let me know how the kids liked (loved!) the sneaky macaroni and cheese!!
Since I am lucky enough to be part of the family, I have been at those magical family nights since the beginning – each one has been filled with the warmth and love, not only of the joyful people around the table, but by the wholesome, hearty, healthy, incredibly delicious food that comes to the table – made with your own special brand of love and culinary talent. This is a fabulous look into Catherine’s Kitchen – and boy, are we lucky to be invited in!
AW Thank you my MOM of the heart!!! I have loved every one of ur family nights together!!!
