Back to School!

Yum

Labor day has come and gone and I hope you had a chance to sample some of my favorite end-of summer recipes! You will still find them in my recipe index if you missed out: these included BBQ Grilled Chicken, French Lentil Sweet Potato Salad, Black Bean Tomato & Corn Salad, Walnut-Crusted Wild Salmon, Orzo Confetti Pasta Salad, Fresh Peach Almond Cobbler, and last but not least my Fresh Fig Custard, but now onto September…

BLACKBOARD-Back-to-School

It’s back to school time! So, for those of us who are running around frantically to make this crazy hectic week as smooth as possible,  today’s special and homepage are devoted to that theme!

This creamy Almond Banana Smoothie is quick and easy and is a filling nutritious way to start the day for you or for your child as he/she is running out of the house! It keeps well in a thermos too.

I am also featuring my yummy Katz Flax Crisps as well as my Chewy Granola Squares that are both great little energy boosters that kids love to find in their lunch box.

My Soft Wheat Banana Muffins are also a wonderful snack with a great big glass of milk when they come home from school.

Another simple recipe that I think your kids (and the rest of the family!) will also enjoy is my Crispy Chicken Tenders that are disguised as “fast food”  but are actually surprisingly nutritious.

Another recipe that David and I taught to young kids that were finicky eaters at our cooking camp at the Silo in Connecticut years ago and that they absolutely LOVED much to our astonishment is….Pan-Seared Tilapia! Really, do try it, your kids will devour it, even if they have never had fish before!

Love your Sunday night emails- great timing. add many of your ingredients to my weekly grocery runs. Need to take time to make some of your delicious recipes. Guess I need to read them on computer and not my phone so I can print them. Thank you.
