I have to admit I was never much of a fan of these really healthy-looking green veggie smoothies! I mean, a spinach drink…really? Nutritious, yes, I had no doubt, but at what cost, I thought (not for this French foodie here). Well, I was wrong! This spinach pear smoothie is so refreshing and satisfying, just slightly sweet and surprisingly, not overly “spinachy” (!) I love it–It’s just perfect after my favorite Zumba workout!

I was so surprised how refreshing and simple this smoothie was! I received a large box of pears from Harry & David they were getting way too ripe and this was the perfect way to add them to my morning routine. Fantastic!
LOVE it!!! 🙂
I love this smoothie. I add some ginger to give it a kick.
Great addition Susie, I love it! 🙂
I like spinach because the vegan protein. I like pears because its the only fruit I can eat with interstitial cystitis. I think the concept of drinking green leafy vegetables in smoothies in interesting. Even more appealing to me then salad.
I am glad Holly! let me know how you like it! 🙂
This smoothie is light and refreshing. Great snack

My first green smoothie. Always been afraid to try them. But this is very good! Do you have calorie info or nutritional content on this?
Delighted that you liked it Joy! I don’t have nutritional info on this but you can’t go wrong with those ingredients!
When my kids were very little, they didn’t eat their vegetables. This concerned me – a lot. So, what to do. I used the blender to make a ‘green frosty’ comprising spinach as a main ingredient. And they drank my green frosty, time and again.
My big brake through, though, with the spinach pear smoothie was in substituting water for almond or skim milk. So, after my workout today, I used water instead and it tasted great, even better. I gave a glass to my son and he liked it too.
Funny how mind blocks work, occurring often around food: very humbling for me too especially after feeling so chuffed about my green frosty. Pears go really well with spinach and, yes, water. A learning moment.
A very refreshing treat.
Thanks, Catherine!
Thank you John, always so nice to hear from you!!! I only now saw your nice note as we were away on vacation and we just got back! I know exactly what you mean with mind blocks!! Simple sometimes is just best!
I tried this one, the other morning. It was better then I thought it would be. I guess I shouldn’t have been, because I love spinach & pears, I just never thought to put them together. Very refreshing !!
YAY!! Tracey, I am so happy you were happily surprised!!
