This is our first video in the “Unjunk Yourself” series, aimed to empower kids to eat healthy!
As a culture, we act as if “junk food” is an acceptable category. As if it’s cute, fun, innocuous — and acceptable. But food is the one and only building material for the growing body of a child you love. How’s “junk” sounding now?
Please watch and share with a kid you love!
Gabe and Dad talk about it on local news segment, back in 2012:
OMG this video is so “80s After-School Commercial” it’s painful! Painful…yet…somehow alluring. I just love that kids are talking to kids about eating healthier. It’s sad that public schools promulgate more misinformation by following the 2010 Guidelines towards “making school lunches healthier,” yet don’t get it that their current offerings are no healthier than what they were serving up previously. (Umm…ketchup is not a vegetable.)
Hahah! I love your honesty–painful, yet alluring!!! That’s the idea!!
Really loved this! So does my 14 year old daughter! More please!
YAY!! Joan, I am so happy to hear that! Did your daughter see these other videos in the Unjunk Yourself series? They were made when Gabe was younger–It’s amazing to see the change in his growing body too!!!
