My homemade tasty BBQ sauce has a wonderful kick (you can omit the chipotle for younger kids’ simpler taste). Of course, I made it much healthier for you than the typical salt-&-sugar-laden-store-bought ones, but I want to be clear that this is by no means a nutritious food item, per se: Just use it as a flavorful accent–a little goes a long way! This recipe makes 3/4 cup and can be stored in the fridge.

These burgers sound delicious. I’m trying them today. I don’t have all the ingredients on hand so I will have to make some substitutions. (Quinoa for rice garbonzo bean flour for oats) will see how it turns out!!

      Thank you Alice!

I am delighted that you’ll be trying them but I have to say I am not so sure how they will come out with those 2 main substitutions! It took me over a year to perfect this recipe so that this burger would not only hold together perfectly but not be “mushy” the way some vegan burgers can be, so I am a little bit skeptical here, I have to admit!! But I would LOVE to be proven wrong, so please let me know how it goes! You may have discovered a whole new favorite! 🙂

Does your local grocery store carry this tomato paste or do you have to order this online?
