Cuisinicity Video: Harvest Apple Cake

Yum

A perfect example of putting sugar in its rightful place! I elaborate on my post this week (here). This is a dense cake filled with apples, to make a dent in the “tons” of apples my hubby picked last week-end! It is plenty sweet, yet has considerably less added sugar than the “norm”… and yes, 3/4 cup sugar for this whole cake that serves 12 was all it needed, YUMMY! (sorry about my grammatical errors…I really do speak English better than that!!)

Watch….

and here is the recipe for you:

    Hi Catherine,
not sure if I did something wrong. The cake had great flavor but yet it was “gooy” and it fell apart when I went to remove it from the pan. Could it be my apples werent chopped small enough?

Hmm, I don’t think it’s because the apples were not chopped small enough, it sounds to me like it was not baked through. How long did you bake it for and what temperature?

Great video – my mouth is watering. Loved your explanation of gradually reducing sugar. We’re coming into summer so will try it when apples are plentiful again.
